1 min read

Former Arkansas Governor and U.S. Senator David Pryor will speak at noon Wednesday at the Ron Robinson Theater in the River Market District of Little Rock.

Pryor, a Democrat who also served in the Arkansas Legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives and is the founding dean of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, will be interviewed by Skip Rutherford, the current dean of the Clinton School.

The event is presented by the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, a department of Central Arkansas Library System, and in partnership with the Clinton School. It is part of the Butler Center’s “Legacies & Lunch” series.

Pryor is expected to talk about his founding of the Pryor Center at the University of Arkansas, his political life, his work at the Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics at Harvard and his work at the Clinton School.

Pryor, 81, served in the U.S. Senate from 1979 to 1997. He was governor from 1975 to 1979. He served in the U.S. House from 1966 to 1973. The Encyclopedia of Arkansas calls him ” arguably the most popular Arkansas politician of the modern era.”

He is the father of Mark Pryor, who served in the U.S. Senate from 2003 to 2015.
