Sue Owens, executive director of Economics Arkansas, a private non-profit educational organization in Little Rock, has been elected to serve as the 2016 president of the National Association of Economic Educators. Owens served as president-elect in 2015 after serving three years on the NAEE executive committee.
Eric Hughes, Ed Choate, Mark Ferguson and Ricky Floyd have been appointed to the Metro Little Rock Alliance’s board of directors.
Hughes founded the Hughes & Hughes law firm of Arkadelphia in 2009 and will represent Clark County. Choate, the president and CEO of Delta Dental of Arkansas, will represent Faulkner County along with Ferguson, the executive vice president of First Security Bancorp. Floyd is the owner of Sunrise Honda Motorsports in Searcy and will represent White County.
Brian Crowne has been named vice president of Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion by the Walton Arts Center. Along with serving on the executive committee of the Walton Arts Center, Crowne will be responsible for all operations of the Walmart AMP, which was bought from him in February 2011, including booking, third party rentals, management and operations.
