Patrick Reed
Patrick Reed, an executive vice president and chief operating officer of FedEx Freight in North America since 2004, is retiring, effective July 31.
Reed, 58, was responsible for FedEx’s operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He is a member of the Arkansas Trucking Association’s board of directors.
“I love this community and plan to continue serving on local charity and foundation boards,” Reed said in a statement emailed to Arkansas Business.
Reed joined American Freightways of Harrison in 1996 as a special projects manager. In 1997, he was named division vice president of operations and was promoted to executive vice president of operations in 1999 before becoming COO in 2002.
FedEx bought American Freightways in 2001. Reed was president and CEO of FedEx Freight East from 2002-2004.
FedEx said Reed’s leadership “helped shape FedEx Freight into the reliable provider of LTL services that we know today …”
