Kevin Zaffaroni Appointed Chairman of Tech Park Board

1 min read

Retired Acxiom Corp. executive Kevin Zaffaroni was appointed chairman of the Little Rock Technology Park board on Wednesday, filling a seat left vacant by Mary Good, who will retire March 15.

Zaffaroni was serving as vice chairman, but a new vice chairman has not yet been appointed.

The board also approved the demolition of the old Stephens Inc. building at 114 E. Capitol Ave. by East-Harding Construction for $144,700, which Good said was a lower price that she was expecting.

The demolition is set to begin on April 4 and will only take four weeks, according to a letter from construction manager Shawn Carroll to Brent Birch, the park’s executive director.

The letter says “the demolition will include removal and capping of all utilities, removal of the building, the skywalk and removal of the associated footings.”

The board is also working to select an official logo for the park. Cranford Co. of Little Rock has been working with Birch to design several options, and a representative from the firm presented two options to the board on Wednesday.

The board selected one that they preferred, which was referred to as a “circuit tree,” but Good suggested several adjustments be made to the original design to make it more cohesive. Cranford Co. plans to return with a modified logo.
