Kevin Turner, the chief operating officer for Microsoft Corp. of Redmond, Washington, will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd annual Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit on Oct. 7 in Rogers.
The event is hosted by the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce and the NWA Technology Council. It takes place at the John Q. Hammons Center.
As COO, Kevin Turner leads the company’s worldwide sales, field marketing and services organization. He also manages support and partner channels, Microsoft stores, and corporate support functions including information technology, licensing and pricing and operations. He has been COO for 10 years.
Before working at Microsoft, Turner spent about 20 years at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville, where he was the youngest corporate officer ever at age 29. He was chief information officer for Wal-Mart Stores and president and CEO of Sam’s Club, the $37 billion warehouse club operation.
The Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit includes a lineup of technology professionals and training sessions that include topics for “retail/supplier, developer/technologist, business solutions, corporate/enterprise, agriculture, education, transportation, health care and new emerging technology,” according to a news release.
