Anchor, Meterologist Leave KHBS/KHOG

1 min read

KHBS/KHOG anchor Ugochi Iloka has left northwest Arkansas for a job at WBRC, Fox 6, which is based in Birmingham, Alabama. Iloka will work in its Tuscaloosa bureau. After more than three years at Channels 40/29, Iloka announced her departure on her Facebook page last month.

A 2011 graduate of the Dan Rather School of Journalism at Sam Houston State University in Texas, Iloka said in her post that she and her daughter, Skylar, are “ready to trade in our ‘woo pig sooie’ call for a ‘roll Tide,’ “ but she added that the “wonderful people” of Arkansas “will always have a special place in my heart.” Her last day in the northwest Arkansas newsroom was Sept. 21.

Just two days before that, meteorologist Brad Carl made his final appearance on KHBS/KHOG before moving to Tulsa to become the weekend weatherman at KOKI, Fox23. A Washington native and 2011 graduate of the University of Washington, Carl started at KOKI on Sept. 26.
