Dr. Sam Bledsoe has joined Arkansas Heart Hospital as the surgical director of the hospital’s newly established Bariatric & Metabolic Institute.
Before joining Arkansas Heart Hospital, he was the medical director for bariatric surgery at Christus Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
The following have been appointed to the central Arkansas board of directors of the American Heart Association:
- Blair Allen, president and CEO at Beechwood Hospitality
- Sandra Byrd, vice president of external affairs at Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp.
- John C. Glassford, president and CEO of Health Advantage
- Lydell Lay, owner and CEO of Lay Commercial Mortgage
- Mike Poore, superintendent of schools for the Little Rock School District
- John Ryan, president and CEO of Arkansas Health & Wellness Solutions
- Oscar D. Washington, director of customer service at Entergy Arkansas.
The seven new board members will serve three-year terms.
Drew Ramey has been hired as chief strategy officer of Rock Dental Brands in Little Rock. Rock Dental Brands has 44 offices across Arkansas and Missouri.
Ramey had been the assistant director of the Arkansas State Dental Association for the past five years.
