Allen Stanley, University of Arkansas at Little Rock contract review manager, has been named interim associate vice chancellor for finance. Stanley, a North Little Rock resident, replaces Chaundra Hall, who is now working at the University of Arkansas System Office in Little Rock. Responsibilities of the position include administration of the university’s financial operations.
At the university, Stanley has served in financial services, the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs, finance and administration, and the Arkansas Small Business & Technology Development Center. He has worked as a contract review manager in finance and administration since 2012. He worked as an accountant for First Commercial Mortgage Co. and Arkansas Soil &Water Conservation Commission before joining UALR in 1998.
Stanley earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Central Arkansas at Conway in 1996.
Preston Slayden has been named interim vice provost for student affairs and dean of students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock following the departure of Brad Patterson. He had retired in 2011 after 34 years in various positions at the university, including division chief of student development and dean of students.
Daryl Rice will serve as interim associate vice chancellor of academic affairs at UALR. Rice has more than 30 years of experience at the university. He is currently the interim associate dean for enrollment management, academic programs and funded research for the College of Social Sciences & Communication. Sherry Rankins-Robertson, the current associate vice chancellor for academic affairs, chose to return to a full-time faculty position in the Department of Rhetoric & Writing.
Candice Hunter Corby has been named the winner of the 2017 UALR Distinguished Alumna Award by the UALR Alumni Association. She is the CEO and president of Cobra Legal Solutions in Austin, Texas.
Rebecca Ward was recently named the 2017 recipient of the UALR President’s Award by the UALR Alumni Association. She is a private social work practitioner in Little Rock.
