Annette Herrington
Annette Herrington of Little Rock has been elected chairman of the Arkansas Educational Television Network Commission for fiscal year 2018.
Herrington, a certified public accountant, has been a member of the commission since March 2012. A District 2 representative, she succeeds Kathryn Jones of Bentonville, who just completed a two-year term as chair.
“AETN meets the needs of so many Arkansans, and this essential service goes far beyond the broadcast of high-quality educational and entertainment programs,” Herrington said in a news release. “Because of AETN, more than 33,000 Arkansas educators have access to hundreds of hours of free professional development, preschool children are prepared for success in school and life by PBS Kids, and citizens can connect with local programming unique to Arkansas personalities, industries, natural resources, landmarks, history and arts.”
Other officers are: George “Skip” Holland of Fayetteville, vice chair and AETN Foundation Board representative, and Philip Hathcock of Maumelle, secretary/treasurer.
Holland, a District 3/at-large representative, was appointed to the commission in May 2012 and reappointed in March 2014. Hathcock, a district 2/at-Large representative, was appointed to the commission in April 2014.
Other commission members are: Sammie Benjamin of Glenwood; John Brown of Siloam Springs; West Doss of Fayetteville; Andrew Fulkerson of Paragould; and Jones.
The Arkansas Educational Television Network is Arkansas’ only statewide public media network.
