Paula Cholmondeley
Bank of the Ozarks announced Tuesday that board member Paula Cholmondeley has been recognized by Savoy magazine as one of its 2017 Most Influential Black Corporate Directors.
Cholmondeley has been a member of the Little Rock bank’s board of directors since May 2016 and serves on its Compensation Committee and CRA & Fair Lending Committee.
She is also the CEO of The Sorrel Group, a corporate governance consulting company she founded in 2004. Cholmondeley previously served as vice president and general manager of Specialty Products for Sappi Fine Paper, a subsidiary of Sappi Limited.
She has also held various management positions with Owens Corning, The Faxon Company, Blue Cross of Greater Philadelphia and Westinghouse Elevator Company, and served as a White House Fellow assisting the U.S. Trade Representative during the Reagan administration.
Cholmondeley, a former CPA, is an alumna of Howard University and received a master’s in accounting from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
She is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow and part-time faculty member of the NACD In-Boardroom education program. Cholmondeley is also a director of Kapstone Paper & Packaging and Terex Corporation, and is an independent trustee of Nationwide Mutual Funds.
