Rock Town Distillery Finds New Home Downtown

1 min read

While development takes place around its location on the east side of I-30, Rock Town Distillery plans to pack up its whiskey barrels and move to SoMa.

The Little Rock venture, touted as the first legal distillery in Arkansas since Prohibition, will relocate downtown to 1201 Main St.

The pending deal involves the $2 million purchase of the former home of USA Images. The transaction should close this month.

Rock Town could be moved into the 25,250-SF office-warehouse facility by the end of March.

The decision to buy comes 18 months after the distillery broached the possibility of building new to replace its 15,600-SF leased facility at 1216 E. Sixth St.

The company, led by Phil Brandon, opened its craft liquor production and taste-testing tours there in September 2010.

“We’ve been in this location over 7 years now,” Phil Brandon, Rock Town founder and head distiller, said Wednesday. “The new building is 10,000 SF bigger with more parking.”
