Dr. G. Logan Lynch

Dr. G. Logan Lynch has joined St. Bernards Surgical Associates in Jonesboro.
Lynch earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in the Department of Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he spent the last year as administrative chief resident of general surgery.
Melissa P. Taverner has been appointed provost and dean of the faculty at Lyon College effective Jan. 15, 2018. She will succeed Paul Bube, who has served as interim provost since July; he will return to the classroom as W. Lewis McColgan Professor of Religion.
Taverner is an associate professor of biology at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia. She received her doctoral degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia.
Jay McLeod, who has maintained a private law practice in Jonesboro for the past seven years, has been hired as a vice president and compliance officer by Focus Bank of Charleston, Missouri.
Focus has branches in Jonesboro, Paragould and Marmaduke.
