1 min read

Did you know a groundbreaking is about to occur for a $2.5 million building at Fort Chaffee? The Arkansas National Guard Morale, Welfare & Recreation Fund Inc. is building a 17,040-SF structure to sell military and law enforcement equipment and sundry items.

“They needed to build a better facility that was a little bit more modern and could fit the number of soldiers and airmen and other outside organizations that came through that facility,” said Maj. Will Phillips, who is a spokesman for the Arkansas National Guard.

Architecture Plus Inc. of Fort Smith is the architecture on the project, and Beshears Construction Inc. of Fort Smith is the general contractor.

The project is expected to be completed by late next year.

The Arkansas National Guard MWR Fund will use bonds to pay for the project.

An Arkansas National Guard MWR Fund filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission shows that Crews & Associates Inc., the Little Rock bond brokerage, will receive $73,160 for sales commissions in connection with the offering.
