The award was given for nine consecutive years of 100 percent compliance with the NACWA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit.

The office of U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., has been awarded the Democracy Award by the Congressional Management Foundation for providing the best constituent services in Congress. Of the six finalists in the category, Boozman’s was the only Senate office.

The foundation highlighted the senator’s involvement in the Veterans History Project, for which workshops were held to help Arkansans submit memories of veterans to the Library of Congress. Boozman’s office was also applauded for a Facebook video telling constituents how to contact the senator’s office about problems they are experiencing.

Springdale was named one of 10 All-American City finalists by the National Civic League for the second year in a row. The award is given to communities that demonstrate civic engagement practices that are “promising in their ability to unite members of the community.”

Springdale was chosen as a finalist for its creation of the Committee for Civic Engagement & Inclusion and for its efforts to promote diversity in the community.
