Michael Kirkland Takes Top Spot at Petit Jean Electric (Movers & Shakers)

Michael Kirkland has been selected as the new chief executive officer and general manager of Petit Jean Electric Cooperative in Clinton.

“Michael is well-suited to be our CEO and general manager and we look forward to working with him in serving our members,” said Donnie Collins, president of the Petit Jean Electric Cooperative board of directors. Kirkland is replacing Bill Conine, who is retiring after serving as the CEO and general manager of Petit Jean Electric for 10 years.

Kirkland previously worked for 17 years with Laclede Electric Cooperative in Lebanon, Missouri. He most recently served as the manager of operations for the co-op, directing the day-to-day operations, safety programs, lineman training, vehicle and facilities maintenance, outage management and dispatch areas for the cooperative.

Kirkland earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, and an MBA from Missouri State University in Springfield. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps, where he served in for four years.


Jeff Matthews has been promoted to public relations and production specialist at Conway Corp. Matthews has worked for Conway Corp. for more than 18 years and previously was public relations coordinator. In his new role, he will supervise Conway Corp.’s production team and coordinate the company’s public relations activities.


Seth Tetteh-Quaye has joined Mainstream Technologies in Little Rock as a software developer.

Tetteh-Quaye previously served as a contractor for Northrop Grumman and Deloitte Consulting, working on behalf of the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Responsibilities for his new position include the design, development and deployment of web solutions using .NET technologies.
