Former Mayor Stodola Joins Barber FirmLock Icon

His unemployment didn’t last long.

This month, former Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola joined the Barber Law Firm as an “of counsel” attorney.

Stodola’s practice area at the Little Rock firm will include government relations, real estate and business and regulatory transactions.

Stodola didn’t seek re-election and stepped down as mayor on Dec. 31, after serving 12 years.

He said returning to the practice of law after more than a decade won’t be a problem.

“I probably practiced law every day. I just didn’t get paid for it,” Stodola said of his time at the city. He said Little Rock faced legal questions all the time, from contracts to employment issues.

Before becoming mayor, Stodola was a city attorney, prosecuting attorney and a senior partner at Catlett & Stodola Law Firm PLC.

Earlier this year, Stodola said, he was contacted by Barber’s managing part-ner, Perry Wilson, about joining the firm and he agreed.

“It’s an opportunity for me that I’m going to thoroughly enjoy,” Stodola said.
