Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport Wants New WebsiteLock Icon

1 min read

Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport is looking for a website designer.

CEO Aaron Burkes said the airport has recently sent out RFPs — request for proposals — for a new website that will be paired with a new, more aggressive marketing strategy. Burkes said most of the marketing will be handled in house, but he and the airport’s powers that be are willing to spend as much as $50,000 for the improved website.

Burkes said the current website was designed by Sharp Hue but is seven years old. Burkes said the airport will receive RFPs until Aug. 31 and has already had more than 40 responses.

“We are going to make it more mobile friendly, obviously, and much more updated,” Burkes said. “We don’t want costs to be an issue of the quality of what we put out.”

Burkes said Ken Williams was recently hired as the airport’s “special systems analyst” — fancy title for the airport’s IT guy — and he will help oversee and streamline the new website design and onboarding. Burkes expects the process to take approximately two to three months after the RFP is closed.

“It has to be simple, clean and organized,” Burkes said. “We want it to provide as much information as possible. We want the link to be very accessible. If you have more than two or three clicks, they’re gone.”
