Stephens Group Portfolio Company Acquires New Jersey Firm

Sound Seal, a portfolio company of The Stephens Group LLC and a manufacturer of noise control products, announced Tuesday that it has acquired Acoustical & Tackable Surfaces Inc. of Flemington, New Jersey.

ATS is a manufacturer and installer of acoustical wall and ceiling panels.

“The ATS product and service portfolio is a perfect addition to our thriving architectural business,” said Joe Lupone, CEO of Sound Seal, in a news release. “Our lean practices support a culture of continuous improvement, unmatched product quality and customer service. Furthermore, Sound Seal will extend sophisticated marketing and commercial resources that support rapid growth and scale. This acquisition is a prime example of Sound Seal taking another positive step toward strengthening our overall position in noise control.”

In addition, this is the second acquisition Sound Seal has made this year. The company acquired Illinois-based Noise Barriers LLC in June.
