Projected business formations in the United States for July, adjusted for seasonal variation, were 28,494, an increase of 0.3% compared with June, the U.S. Census Bureau reported Aug. 13.
The projected business formations are forward-looking, meaning that they estimate the number of business startups that will appear from the cohort of business applications in a given month.
As this chart shows, business formations, which spiked during the pandemic, are now back up to near-pandemic numbers.
