New construction is on the rise in Little Rock.

The total valuation of new construction projects in Little Rock was up 25% in the first six months of the year compared with the same period in 2024, according to data obtained from the city of Little Rock.

In the first half of the year, new construction projects were valued at $192.01 million compared with $153.85 million last year.

New building permits were up 42% from 237 to 337 during the same period.

 

Several big projects are underway in Little Rock, including Amazon’s 930,000-SF logistics facility at the Port of Little Rock and a $318 million expansion at Arkansas Children’s Hospital that broke ground last year.

Overall construction in Little Rock was down through the first half of the year. Construction projects’ value fell 19% from $490.3 million to $398.9 million this year, while the number of building permits rose 9% from 956 to 1,044.
