Peter Banko, CEO of CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock since 2007, has been promoted by parent company Catholic Health Initiatives to oversee the hospitals in its east/southeast division.
The promotion was announced in a news release dated Wednesday and will become effective on Monday.
Banko's region will include St. Vincent as well as CHI hospitals in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Reading, Pennsylvania; and Denville, New Jersey.
"Banko also will direct the transition process for Memorial Health System of East Texas, which will become part of Houston-based CHI St. Luke's health over the next several months; and will assume responsibility for the CHI national integration team," according to the release.
Banko came to St. Vincent from Christus Spohn Health System in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has more than 30 years of health care experience.
He was not immediately available for comment on his new job.
