Trey Berry
Southern Arkansas University’s Board of Trustees said Thursday that it has selected Trey Berry as its 12th university president.
Berry will assume the post July 1. He succeeds David Rankin, who will retire on June 30.
Berry is SAU’s provost and vice president for academic affairs. He came to the university in 2012 as professor of history and dean of the College of Liberal and Performing Arts.
The Shreveport, Louisiana, native grew up in Arkadelphia and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. He earned master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Mississippi.
