Brendan Quirk Returns to Little Rock as Rapha Racing Leader

Remember Brendan Quirk, who sold Little Rock’s Competitive Cyclist for $20 million back in 2011?

Quirk is back in town after four years in Utah, where he served as general manager of Backcountry.com’s bike division and executive vice president of customer experience.

Quirk was hired in August to lead the North American operations for Rapha Racing Ltd. But rather than move to Rapha’s U.S. headquarters in Portland, Oregon, he “was eager to get back home” and opted to return to Little Rock.

His Arkansas relocation set off rumblings that Quirk was embarking on a new business venture.

However, he tells us that is not so.

A former competitive cyclist himself, Quirk started what became Competitive Cyclist as a two-man retail bike shop and grew it into one of the country’s leading bicycle e-retailers. He sold the company to Backcountry.com, a subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Group.

As for new ventures, Quirk promises to let us know if something comes up.
