Rock Region Metro Board Director Bentley Wallace said Tuesday that the board has hired Springsted Waters Executive Recruitment of Dallas to recruit its next executive director.
"Metro had great success in hiring our most recent executive director through a national search firm, and it was the board's desire that we follow a similar process for finding Metro's next leader," Wallace said. "We're confident the Springsted team will engage in a robust recruitment and assessment process to find the right person who will continue building on the authority's achievements."
According to a news release from Rock Region Metro, Springsted will begin public outreach in January, after working with the Metro board and executive staff to develop "a comprehensive candidate profile." Recruitment, recommendations to the board and interviews will follow, with an accepted final offer expected to occur in April.
Former Executive Director Jarod Varner left the central Arkansas transit organization in August after four years at the helm. He took a regional leadership role with First Transit, an international transit operations, management and consulting firm based in Cincinnati.
