Arkansas Urology
Some people flip houses. Scot Davis flips perspectives.
Davis, CEO at Arkansas Urology, accepts the challenges that presiding over a growing practice presents.
Except Davis sees challenges as opportunities.

“With success comes challenges, which doesn’t always have to be a negative challenge,” Davis said. “For us it’s positive.”
Davis, 54, sees growth as a chance to treat more patients, and when he gets the rare patient complaint he sees a chance to make a connection and change perceptions.
He recalled reaching out to a patient after receiving a letter of complaint, having a lengthy discussion, taking suggestions and basically making a friend.
“Just taking the time for a simple call to apologize turned into a golden opportunity to share with our team about how we could and should improve as an organization,” Davis said. “I have used this call constantly with our staff in talking about having a high degree of empathy for our patients.”
Davis, at Arkansas Urology since 2013, wanted to be a physician but found he didn’t have the necessary aptitude for chemistry and biology. He majored in political science and got his master’s in public administration at the University of Memphis, then picked up an MBA in finance at nearby Christian Brothers University.
Stints as a medical CFO in Jonesboro and Memphis preceded Davis’ move to Arkansas Urology, which has eight locations in central Arkansas.
In 2017 alone Arkansas Urology acquired a clinic in Conway and added six new providers there, opened an up-to-date surgery center next to its Little Rock location and remodeled its main campus with a centralized check-in process and state-of-the art call center.
Davis leads Arkansas Urology’s Kickoff to Men’s Health event promoting prostate cancer awareness and prevention and he will chair this year’s American Heart Association Heart Walk.
“I love that what I do; each day matters,” Davis said. “The business we are in is truly life-changing.”
