Gusano’s Pays Back Rent to River Market LandlordLock Icon

Our Whispers get results.

We’re not sure exactly when Tim Chappell, owner of Gusano’s Chicago-Style Pizzeria in the River Market District in downtown Little Rock, paid his landlord, but the landlord’s lawyer says the restaurateur is all caught up on his rent.

“Everything has been cleared up” and Chappell is “current,” said Jim Jackson of the Jackson Law Firm of North Little Rock. The firm was representing Three Thirteen Clinton LLC, which had sued Chappell on Sept. 5 in Pulaski County Circuit Court for $57,583 in back rent and other charges stemming from the restaurant’s occupancy at 313 President Clinton Ave.

Jackson declined to say when Chappell paid up but says all is now good.

Chappell had told Whispers early this year that he was bringing back the legendary Shack barbecue restaurant to share space with Gusano’s, and Jackson said, “I think what’s happened — he’s trying to get this barbecue concept going, and he’s kind of getting everything balanced with this barbecue concept that he’s got coming out.”

The lawyer added: “We’re all looking forward to his barbecue concept.”

And so are we.
