The new management of the bank formerly known as Helena National Bank has settled on a new name following its conversion to a state charter in October

And the winner is: Partners Bank.

“We wanted a name that when people said it or heard it, they would know what we are about,” VP Vance St. Columbia told Whispers last week.

The bank has been operating under a temporary name, HNB Bank, while searching for the perfect name — one that, above all, would not limit it geographically as the new CEO, John O. Moore, and his team scheme to expand beyond the Delta and perhaps even outside of Arkansas.

HNB — uh, Partners Bank — reported assets of $167.1 million as of Sept. 30, a week after Moore arrived as CEO. It has earned $519,000 in the first three quarters of 2018, compared with $654,000 for all of 2017.

Partners Bank of Helena will join six other banks in the country that use the word “partners” or “partnership” in their names.
