Richards Accepts Surgeon Slot at Baptist Health in Fort Smith (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Camille Y. Richards recently joined Baptist Health Surgical Clinic-Dodson Avenue as a general and trauma surgeon.

Richards will perform procedures at Baptist Health-Fort Smith, including hernia repair, chemotherapy port placement and removal, diagnostic laparoscopy and exploratory laparotomy and breast surgery.

Richards earned her medical degree with honors at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She later completed postgraduate training at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She most recently worked at Mohawk Valley Health Systems’ Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York.

Leslie E. Harmon, a surgical and clinical services director in Little Rock, has been appointed to the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board.

Harmon received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Christian University before going on to earn her certification as a plastic surgery nurse. She has been in plastic surgery nursing since 2003 and has spent the last decade helping Little Rock patients.

Dr. Bryan Smith is the new orthopedic surgeon at Mercy in Fort Smith.

Smith received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his doctorate in physical therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his medical school training at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City and his orthopedic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Smith recently completed an orthopedic surgery sports medicine fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. During his fellowship, he served as one of the team physicians for several UCLA sports teams and was an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Amanda Smith and Jamie Griffith of the Methodist Family Health Foundation in Little Rock. ()

Amanda Smith has been hired as director of development and Jamie Griffith has been promoted to project manager for Methodist Family Health Foundation in Little Rock.

Smith has more than 19 years of fundraising experience.

Griffith is responsible for special events, donor recognition and stewardship. She worked for the foundation for eight years as office manager and volunteer coordinator before her promotion.
