Little Rock TV Stations Fill Anchor Spots
Cassandra Webb (KARK)

KARK, the Nexstar Media Group NBC affiliate operated in conjunction with KLRT-TV, Fox 16, famously lost evening anchor Ashley Ketz and “KARK 4 Today” host Aaron Nolan in July to WGN in Chicago. Reporter Re’Chelle Turner left that same month for KPRC in Houston, and Fox 16 weekend anchor Stephanie Sharp went to work for the state attorney general’s office in September.

Since then, News Director Ernie Paulson said, the team has added Cassandra Webb as Fox 16’s weekend anchor and named Hilary Hunt as “KARK 4 Today” co-anchor. Webb is a former schoolteacher who lived in Arkansas when her husband was flying C-130s out of Little Rock Air Force Base.

KTHV, Little Rock’s CBS affiliate, has “huge shoes to fill” after losing two-decade favorite Dawn Scott to the Janet Jones Co., a Little Rock real estate firm.

“We’re currently searching for her replacement, but it won’t be easy,” said News Director Shayla Teater. Janet Jones told Arkansas Business she’s thrilled to have Scott as her newest agent, calling her a “perfect fit for our company” — kind, professional and a “true team player.”

Channel 11 has hired multimedia journalist Jade Jackson out of Shreveport. Corallys Ortiz, a meteorologist and reporter most recently in Jackson, Tennessee, started at the station last week.

And Tom Brannon, a familiar face who appeared every day on KTHV for 20 years before departing in 2017, is returning as chief meteorologist on Jan. 1.
