Forge Institute Awarded $1M to Help Small Businesses Improve Cybersecurity
(Forge Institute)

The Forge Institute in Little Rock has received a $1 million federal grant to participate in a pilot program aimed at helping small businesses improve their cybersecurity.

The nonprofit said the funds will allow the Arkansas Cyber Defense Center, which launched last spring, to conduct 260 assessments for at least 130 small businesses in a year. It will also help the center launch an awareness campaign, provide cyberattack response training, offer guidance how to interact with law enforcement, and offer an overview of legal agreements and privacy statements.

The funds are being provided through the U.S Small Business Administration. The Forge Institute is one of three entities participating in the pilot.

Joint awareness campaigns and training will be conducted by Forge Institute in collaboration with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center and academic members of the Consortium for Cyber Innovation.
