As of May 10, there were 8,460 people who had registered for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance.
At that point, 3,290 applicants had been approved for disaster assistance through FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program. FEMA has OK’d more than $7 million to help residents in Cross, Lonoke and Pulaski counties recover from the severe storms and tornadoes that tore through the state on March 31.
Also as of May 10, the Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience, Field Operations Center-West for the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved five business loans totaling $496,800. It said it is processing “many more loans.”
