1 min read

The Arkansas Rice Farmers and Arkansas Rice Council will hold their annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 26 in Stuttgart at the newly renovated Grand Prairie Center.

USA Rice CEO Betsy Ward will deliver an industry update followed by four panel discussions, beginning with a talk on the upcoming farm bill.

A rice state check-off panel will follow, then a panel featuring several agriculture innovation opportunities. The discussions will conclude with a panel focused on USDA Climate Smart grant awardees.

The scheduled participants include U.S. Senate Agricultural Committee staffers, USA Rice staffers, UA System Vice President for Agriculture Deacue Fields, and representatives from Riceland Foods and Whitaker Farms.

This year’s meeting will also offer continuing education units for Certified Crop Advisors and Arkansas Licensed Consultants.

“This meeting will provide important information to keep our stakeholders up to date on industry issues so that our producers can continue to grow a safe and quality food supply,” said Kelly Robbins, Arkansas Rice executive director.
