6 Buy Out Insurance Company Owner

1 min read

A group of six businessmen have bought out Harold Campbell’s ownership in Campbell & Co., a Camden-based insurance firm.

The group consists of Searcy Harrell, Lloyd Lindsey, L. E. Lindsey, Paul Lindsey, Steve Harrell and Jim Black, who will move back to Camden, his hometown, to be the firm’s managing owner.

Campbell will remain with the agency, helping the group build on the company’s 75-year history.

“What is so rewarding to me is the fact that the new owners have handled our legal and financial matters from the start and that everything we’ve worked to build for so many years will be continued based on the same values as those we held at the outset,” Campbell said. “In addition, the strength of the new owners will certainly more quickly take the agency to new levels of quality and service.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company is headquartered in Camden but has eight branches throughout the state.

Black, who graduated from Camden High School in 1975, is a certified public accountant who has worked for firms in Little Rock and Dallas. He also worked for Lockheed Martin, First Financial Bank in El Dorado and Centennial Bank, which has offices in Little Rock, El Dorado and elsewhere.
