PrivacyStar Releases New App for Android Users

PrivacyStar of Conway recently announced the launch of a new Android app.

The app is free to download at the Google Play Store and shows the identity of callers and texters while giving the recipient of the call the ability to block or report the caller.

A news release cites the app as the first and only to offer call and text blocking with a reporting ability. It works through the company’s CallCenter feature, which adds the app’s features to the incoming call screen.

“PrivacyStar’s real-time caller ID gives you the name of who’s calling, not just the phone number,” said CEO Jeff Stalnaker in the release.

“And with the push of a button, users can block a person from calling or spam texting them, and if they choose to, file a complaint directly with the FTC.”

How does PrivacyStar make money on the app?

Ads, for one thing. But it also offers a $2.99-per-month premium service: Certain features in the free version are limited, such as its real-time caller ID service and reverse number lookup.

The premium version removes those limits and adds some features. Ads are gone too.
