Whispers doesn’t spend a lot of time on big-scissors photo ops, but this one is notable:
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will have a ribbon-cutting for its new convenience store model next week.
The debut project will be at the northwest corner of Walton Boulevard and 14th Street in Wal-Mart’s hometown of Bentonville, where the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on March 19.
A groundbreaking for a downtown apartment complex was scheduled for the same day but it was moved to March 21.
Thrive Apartments will break ground for the construction of a 60-unit complex that will also have a retail space and restaurant on A Street downtown.
