You may remember that Baptist Health of Little Rock announced in November its plan to build a 200,000-SF hospital in Conway.

Ground will be broken for the 100-bed medical center at 10:30 a.m. July 7 at 1455 Exchange Ave., near the Dave Ward Drive exit off Interstate 40.

The campus of Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway will occupy about 37 acres and is expected to open in 2016. The hospital will employ about 425 workers after construction is complete.

In February, Baptist Health received Conway City Council approval for rezoning of the land from C-4 (commercial) to O-1 (office) classification, clearing the way for the July groundbreaking.

Arkansas Business previously reported that Baptist Health invested $10.6 million for the site. Construction could add $50 million in estimated additional costs.
