TeleTech, Open in Sherwood, Plans New Center in Jonesboro, 150 Jobs

TeleTech Holdings Inc. of Denver, which this week opened its new Sherwood customer service center, said Thursday that it will open a second site in Jonesboro and employ 150 people.

The new site, at 2908 S Caraway Road, is scheduled to open in August. While the company plans to start with 150 jobs, it says the center will have the ability to expand to up to 600 positions.

TeleTech's Sherwood center will employ 250 people.

"With an existing TeleTech site in Sherwood and a new site in Jonesboro, we are expanding our footprint in Arkansas," Ken Tuchman, chairman and CEO, said in a news release. "The new Jonesboro site will be integral to TeleTech’s continued growth, particularly within the health care vertical, a complicated industry that requires an exceptional customer experience."

TeleTech said it is actively hiring for its new Jonesboro site, which will offer support for "a leading healthcare insurance company." Its Sherwood center also does work for a health insurance client.

TeleTech said it is seeking customer experience representatives, team leaders, trainers, recruiters, technical assistance and IT specialists, operations managers and facilities staff.

In Jonesboro, TeleTech is setting up shop in the former location of StarTek, another Denver firm that operated a call center there. StarTek, a publicly traded firm that handled customer service functions for clients in the telecommunications industry, employed about 124 people at the center but closed in mid-May.
