ADC Manufacturing to Expand in Harrison

2 min read

ADC Manufacturing of Harrison has expanded its fence accessory and component manufacturing facility on North Industrial Park Road in Harrison, the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce announced Monday.

The 6,300-SF addition comes with 10 new full-time positions and includes the installation of a PVC fence pipe production line, which the company moved from a sister facility.

The new equipment lines are located within ADC’s present footprint, and a newly constructed building will become its warehouse. The company said it is aiming to hire new employees through its local partner, Peoplelink Staffing.

Formally known as Anchor Die Casting, ADC has been in Harrison for more than 50 years. The business is now part of Merchants Metals, one of the largest fencing manufacturers and distributors in North America.

The Harrison plant employs 50 full-time workers, both in production and as staff. Several have worked there for more than 20 years.

“Our Harrison team has been at the forefront of quality products and services for years, and their productivity made this expansion possible,” Plant Manager Kathy Slay said in a news release. “This project underscores our commitment to our customers and our community here in Harrison. We firmly believe we can and will grow the business even more in the months ahead by taking on the challenge of manufacturing new products here.”

“Working with ADC is a pleasure,” said Bob Largent, president and CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber. “Kathy and her team are smart and focused on product quality and thus it’s no surprise to us that Merchants Metals made the decision to grow its operations right here in Harrison.”

Craig Campbell, president of the Boone County Economic Corp., said, “ADC’s outstanding product quality and workforce expertise led to the new operations here. This means so much to our manufacturing base locally.”
