Dr. Amit Taggarse has joined Mercy Clinic Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery in Fort Smith. He recently completed fellowships in advanced adult cardiac surgery, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Taggarse studied medicine at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, and completed an externship rotation in pediatrics and pediatric surgery at Maricopa Medical Center at the University of Arizona in Phoenix. Taggarse completed three-year residencies in general surgery at hospitals in Atlanta, Detroit and Hyderabad and worked as a general and laparoscopic surgeon at S-K Hospital in Hyderabad.
Dr. Misty Gonzalez has joined Mercy Clinic Family Medicine-Van Buren following a three-year residency in family medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences West in Fort Smith. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma and completed her M.D. at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies.
