1 min read

Antoine Lucas has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Southwest Power Pool of Little Rock. Lucas will succeed current COO Lanny Nickell, who was named as the organization’s new president and CEO effective April 1. “Antoine’s keen understanding of what it will take to make SPP successful in the future, trusted relationships developed within and outside our organization, and authentic leadership qualities make him a great fit for the position,” Nickell said in a press release.

Lucas has more than two decades of experience in the electric power industry, where he has served in various engineering, management and executive roles. Before joining SPP, Lucas worked for Entergy Services Inc. as an engineer and system operator. Lucas, now vice president of markets, has worked for SPP since 2007. In recent years, he has worked to develop and design SPP’s market-based services. Lucas is executive sponsor of SPP’s Markets+ effort. That initiative is developing a regional day-ahead wholesale electricity market in the Western Interconnection.

Lucas holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
