1 min read

ArcBest Corp. of Fort Smith announced the retirement of one member of its board of directors and the appointment of two new directors.

John H. Morris, a director since July 1988, stepped down after 28 years with the board, effective Oct. 31. Morris was a general partner with Kelso & Company, a private equity firm, when it bought Arkansas Best Corp. for $371 million in 1988.

“We are very grateful to John Morris for his incredible service to our company for so many years, providing us with his expertise, financial acumen and strong encouragement of our strategy,” ArcBest CEO and Chairwoman Judy McReynolds said. “We wish him all the best in his retirement and will always remember his support of our company through good times and through the years that were challenging to our organization.”

Michael Hogan, executive vice president of GameStop Corp., joined the ArcBest board on Oct. 25. Eduardo Conrado, executive vice president of Motorola Solutions Inc., will join the board Nov. 1.

The changes increase ArcBest’s board of directors from 10 to 11 members. Both Hogan, 57, and Conrado, 50, will serve terms that expire in 2017.

“Mike Hogan’s unique experience leading GameStop’s successful diversification strategy and transformation, and Eduardo Conrado’s leadership of Motorola’s growth-focused customer experience innovations, IT and strategy teams, combined with their thoughtful approach to business, bring tremendous knowledge to the ArcBest board,” McReynolds said.
