1 min read

Ark Angel Alliance of Little Rock announced Monday that its members have exceeded $3.5 million in investments.

The alliance is a group of investors, business leaders and community leaders committed to growing the Arkansas economy by capitalizing startup companies throughout the state. More than 90% of the alliance’s investments are made in Arkansas-based companies in hopes of driving economic growth and fostering innovation within the state.

“Passing the $3.5 million milestone reflects the incredible potential we see in the Arkansas startup ecosystem,” Melissa Kempkes, executive director of Ark Angel Alliance, said in a press release. “We are proud to contribute to the growth and success of our local entrepreneurial community.”

Startups can apply for funding through Ark Angel Alliance, and established businesses can also join the alliance’s network. Sponsors for the alliance include the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, Arkansas Capital Corporation and the Angel Capital Association.

“As an Arkansas business owner, I recognize the value of having access to local, flexible capital to grow,” Chase Blackwell, president of TriTechne of Conway, said in the release. “I enjoy paying it forward to other business owners, contributing to our state’s economic development and getting to know and learn from other local investors as an Ark Angel Alliance member.”
