Arkansas GDP Rises in 2018

1 min read

Real gross domestic product rose 0.9% in 2018 in Arkansas compared with 2017, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Real GDP rose in 49 states and the District of Columbia, falling only in Alaska. The rates ranged from 5.7% in Washington to a drop of 0.3% in Alaska.

Gross domestic product by state is the market value of goods and services produced by the labor and property located in the state.

“Information services; professional, scientific, and technical services; and durable goods manufacturing were the leading contributors to national economic growth in 2018,” the bureau said. “Information services and retail trade were the leading contributors to the increase in real GDP in Washington, the fastest-growing state.”
