The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced Tuesday that it raised a record $106.6 million in proceeds for Fiscal Year 2021, which ended June 30.
Since its inception in 2009, ASL has raised more than $1 billion in scholarship proceeds. It has also awarded more than $3.6 billion in prizes to players, resulting in approximately $318 million in retailer commissions.
ASL Executive Director Eric Hagler said in a news release that the record numbers posted prove that the “lottery is trending upward and on a proper course for prudent growth.” But he warns that expectations for FY 2022 should be tempered, citing the re-opening of venues amid rising inflation and fuel costs.
