Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Wednesday announced the members of the Working Group on Highway Funding, which is charged with finding new ways to fund the state’s highways.
The panel is expected to come up with recommendations by Dec. 15. The current highway funding model relies on gas and diesel taxes.
“Highway funding has to be re-examined here in Arkansas,” Hutchinson told members of the Arkansas Trucking Association at the group’s conference last week.
