Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and North Arkansas College in Harrison entered into a memorandum of understanding on Sept. 11 that will create pathways for Northark students to pursue bachelor’s degrees through ATU.
Under the terms of the agreement, any student transferring from Northark to ATU who has completed courses identified in specific programs of study, completed required transfer procedures and gained admission to ATU will receive full transfer credit for previously earned hours in his or her major field of study.
ATU will also offer classes on the Northark campuses in Harrison as an additional pathway to baccalaureate degree attainment.
Programs included in the agreement are:
Bachelor of arts degrees in communication (speech and theatre options), criminal justice and criminology, cultural and geospatial studies, English, fine arts, history, journalism (broadcasting, public relations and print), political science, psychology, public history and sociology;
Bachelor of fine arts degree in creative writing;
and bachelor of science degrees in agriculture business (animal science and pre-veterinary medicine options), biology, chemistry (biochemistry option), elementary education, environmental science, geology, math and physics.
