Baptist Health announced Tuesday the promotion of two employees to new leadership positions at Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock.
Kelley Hamby has been named vice president of Patient Care and John Bowen has been named assistant vice president of Patient Services.
Hamby will be responsible for ensuring efficient care delivery, excellence in quality patient care, and achieving a positive patient experience.
She began at Baptist Health in 1995 and most recently, she is serving as the assistant vice president of Patient Care with responsibilities for the Little Rock campus’ main operating room, Pre/postoperative Services, Day Surgery, GI lab, Bariatric Services, PICC and the eye center.
“Kelley has shown a willingness to work hard and develop strong working relationships with physicians and staff,” Steven Webb, vice president and administrator, said in a news release. “Kelley’s strong analytical skills will be well suited for the challenges of healthcare in 2016 and beyond.”
Hamby will transition to her new role this summer when Kathy Martin, current vice president of Patient Care, retires after more than 40 years.
Bowen’s new position will become effective May 30 when he will become responsible for the on-site management of support services and Baptist Health integration, supporting efficiency in the delivery of healthcare services.
Bowen began at Baptist Health in 2012 and served as assistant vice president and night administrator at the Little Rock facility. Since May 2013, Bowen has been the assistant vice president and administrator for Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.
“While at Arkadelphia John has been successful in opening three rural health clinics and coordinated several collaborative initiatives among the Baptist Health regional hospitals,” Webb said. “We’re exciting to have him on our team.”
A native of northwest Arkansas, Bowen received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and his master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
