Baptist Health to Open Counseling Center at Southwest Campus

1 min read

Baptist Health announced Monday that it will open a new counseling center at its Southwest Campus, the former Southwest Regional Medical Center.

The new Baptist Health Counseling Center will open Dec. 3 and be led by Charles Chamblee.

The center will provide outpatient counseling services modeled on Baptist’s faith-based mission, according to a news release. Its services will entail a range of counseling including personal and marriage counseling, financial counseling, grief and bereavement counseling and addictions and substance abuse.

The center will not accept insurance when it opens and will charge $75 per one-hour session. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Chamblee will lead individual counseling sessions and also be available for in-service education, group crisis interventions, support groups and other services.

Chamblee received a Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary based in Fort Worth, Texas, and a doctorate from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.

The Baptist Health Southwest Campus is located off Interstate 30 in southwest Little Rock near the 430 exchange in the former Southwest Regional Medical Center.

Baptist Health purchased the 79-bed facility in 2009 for $14 million.
