Bourbon & Boots, the “Southern-inspired lifestyle brand” based in North Little Rock, has acquired the public radio show Tales from the South, the company officially announced.
The price was not disclosed. Tales from the South founder and host Paula Martin Morell will join Bourbon & Boots as executive producer. Tales from the South is a showcase for Southern writers to share their own true stories in an unrehearsed, live setting.
The show, produced in partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Department of Rhetoric and Writing, has been held at various venues across central Arkansas. Bourbon & Boots, acquired in May by Rod Ford’s XCelerate Capital, will now produce the show from its base in the Argenta district of downtown North Little Rock.
Bourbon & Boots also announced that Tales from the South will be expanded to live events in the “most historical cities and venues across all of the Southern states to completely capture, celebrate, and share the diversity of the Southern living experience.”
Live recordings of the show are curated into digital content made available through public radio, satellite and streaming radio, podcasts, web stream and RSS Feeds to more than 50 million listeners in more than 60 countries, according to a news release.
