Brett McDaniel Named COO at Conway Corp.

2 min read

Conway Corp., the municipal utility that provides electric power, water, sewers, telephone, cable TV and internet services in the Faulkner County seat, has a new chief operating officer: Brett McDaniel.

The utility announced the appointment of McDaniel, 53, on its website Monday, April 1. But the promotion was no joke. The former engineering and planning manager succeeds Greg Dell, who retired March 31 after nearly 40 years with Conway Corp.

As chief operating officer, McDanial will direct, administer and coordinate operations of the utility, fulfilling policies, goals and objectives directed by CEO Bret Carroll and the utility’s board of directors. Before becoming the utility’s engineering and planning manager, McDaniel was a water systems engineer from 2005 to 2008, when he was promoted to water systems senior engineer. He was promoted to engineering and planning manager in 2017, the utility said.

“I am looking forward to working with Brett as he moves to the role of COO,” Carroll said in a statement. “Brett’s experience over the past 18 years has given him insight that is critical as we plan for the future of all of our utility and telecommunication services. He is committed to Conway Corp. and our customers, and will serve them well in his new role.”

McDaniel called it a blessing to have a chance to serve Conway residents in a greater capacity. “I look forward to continuing my career here at Conway Corp with so many excellent community leaders.”

Dale Gottsponer will succeed McDaniel as engineering and planning manager. Gottsponer started with the company in 1989 as an electric systems engineer. He became electric systems senior engineer in 2008.
